Students take additional general education electives, making this a good option if
you intend to transfer to a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program or may attend a
university in the future to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Start your IT career with Year Up
If you have been thinking about a career in information technology, but are concerned about the cost of college or your job prospects, Seattle Central has a solution for you.
Starting this spring, Seattle Central College will partner with Year Up to offer a 23-week supported program to get you trained and ready in the field of software development and testing or IT support.
Students accepted into the program will receive tuition support as well as a 26-week-long internship with some of the industry's leading employers such as Amazon, Google, Boeing, Alaska Airlines and more. No student loans are required. You will also earn a stipend through the program, both while you train and during your internship.
Students who complete the program will receive support and guidance in identifying their career placement and a pathway to earn an AAS-T degree and bachelor's degree at Seattle Colleges. Across the country, more than 90 percent of students who complete the Year Up program are employed or enrolled in advanced classes within four months of completion.
Software Development and Test Engineers and IT Support Technicians play a key role in the region's local economy and are quickly becoming some of the nation’s fastest growing careers. This program is a great opportunity to start in the field.
